🏆 BC Junior Chess Championship 2026

📅 Nov 28–29 | 📍 Executive Hotel Vancouver Airport, Richmond

Two ways to play:

♟️ 2-Day Championship (Sat + Sun, 5 rounds, CFC rated)
BC's official junior championship, sanctioned by the BC Chess Federation. Sections for Championship (1700+), Reserve (1000–1700) and Booster 2-Day (U1000). Top finishers earn travel subsidies to CJCC 2027.
💰 $90 early bird before Nov 1, then $110

🌱 1-Day Booster (Saturday only, 6 rounds, 15+10)
The perfect first tournament for anyone under 1000 CFC, including unrated players. Trophies for the top 3 and medals for 4th and 5th.
💰 $40 early bird through Nov 1, then $50

New to tournaments? Start with the Booster. Ready to compete for the provincial title? Enter the Championship.

What is the difference between the 1 day booster and the 2 day booster section?
Both are for players under 1000 CFC (or unrated), but they suit different players. We built two so every beginner can find the right fit.

🌱 1-Day Booster is for players new to tournaments.
Never played a tournament before? One afternoon, 6 quick games (15+10), done by 5pm. It's an easy, low-pressure way to see if you like it.

♟️ 2-Day Booster is for players ready for more.
Played a few events and want a real tournament weekend? Longer games (G/50+10 and G/90+30), a regular CFC rating, and a chance at travel subsidies to CJCC 2027.
